Our Lay Expert Advisory Panel (LEAP) has a membership predominantly of service users. LEAP has become a very successful group and achieved local and regional recognition amongst HIV researchers as a source of patient input to the development of new studies and the ongoing issues including recuitment strategies. LEAP members feel engaged in the research work of the directorate and some have spoken at regional meetings and others have become members of individual research advisory groups
