This page contains information about a research study investigating chronic lung problems in people with HIV infection. The aim of the study is to use a new lung imaging technique to see whether it is possible to detect changes in the lung before they begin to cause symptoms.

Volunteers will undertake a blood test, breathing tests and heart & lung scans in an MRI scanner over two visits to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

If you are a healthy, non-smoker aged 30 to 55, with or without HIV, you may be eligible.

Travel expenses will be covered at £20 per visit.

The study is being run by Dr Paul Collini (Infectious Diseases) and Prof Jim Wild (Professor of Magnetic Resonance Physics, Radiology) at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
